Finally, a modern and hip Starwood hotel for Hong Kong. The new W Hong Kong is the first W in Greater China and is sure to make its neighboring Hong Kong Sheraton Hotel & Towers look like the less attractive step-sister (unless you’re in the towers of course). All 393 guestrooms have stunning Hong Kong skyline views thanks to its prominent location on a small peninsula adjacent to the epicenter of high end Kowloon shopping and entertainment. Music and video are a central theme at this hotel, as iPod docks are placed in guestrooms and a live DJ kicks things up a notch in the Living Room. Large-screen LCD TVs are mounted in both the bedroom and bathroom for your viewing pleasure regardless of where you stand (or sit).

Much of the “WOW” experience will be created by some stunning property amenities. Among the most dreamy are the signature Wet swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzi which are perched almost 700 feet above sea level on the rooftop. Sharing the same altitude is the Sweat fitness center. Imagine being 73 floors up in the air and jogging to a view of the spectacular IFC II Tower. Don’t jump the gun though! The pool in the clouds and the chic Bliss spa aren’t opening until September 1st. For a sneak peak of real photos of the W Hong Kong, click here.
With front row real estate, expect the views from the W’s glass curtain windows to be far superior compared to the existing Sheraton that is one street back from the Victoria Harbour waterfront . . . also quite nice though as you can see below.
This newest addition to the W Hotels brand is part of the International Commerce Centre (ICC) development, comprised of the Cullilan towers (the Cullilan II tower houses the W Hong Kong) and the ICC Tower (the next tallest building in Greater China to be completed 2010). The Ritz-Carlton has claimed the top floors of the ICC tower and will boast the highest hotel in the world once it moves in. The ICC is an integral development in Kowloon’s impressive new urban development called Union Square.
